Literasea

In the spring semester of 2024, my Creative Writing students at the Europa-Universität Flensburg collaborated with a team of students doing their MA in Culture, Language and Media, to produce the university’s very first and very own literary journal. The idea was to create the framework to enable us to produce an issue every semester.

The theme of the inaugural issue was ‘human behaviour‘ and we went to print in June, 2024. The second issue, with the theme of ‘movement‘ went to print in December of 2024. In June 2025, the third issue of Literasea came out, the ‘multilingual’ issue.

As a founding editor of the project, I work with my Creative Writing students to help them develop and polish a piece of writing for publication. I also edit English-language submissions that come in outside of the writing workshop. And, of course, I contribute: each issue, I write a preface on behalf of the Creative Writing Workshop and contribute my own piece of original writing. It is such a lovely thing to have a deadline for a vibrant, exciting literary journal and to see my work in amongst my students’ and peers.
