Radio Silence Soon to End

I promise.

A lovely technician (lovely and somewhat gruff) came by our place today and connected our brand new cable. All that is left to do is pore over the instruction manual tonight and set it all up. Good thing my technical German is flawless and I can read manuals in my sleep.

If we never move again it will be because of the tedium of setting up internet.

In fact, it will be because of the tedium of the entire process. I must be getting old. I used to think moving was fun. Then again, I also used to think the flight between Sydney and Europe was fun. Ah, youth.

In the meantime, if you missed seeing my mug on Deutsche Welle, here it is. Isn’t that a gorgeous freeze frame? I am obviously discussing something really worthwhile, like Apfelschorle.

And I hope to be back with more lovely pictures and tales of what has been happening in this northern pocket of the country, soon.

Wish me luck with the internet set up … I’m going to need it.

Uhm…was ‘fed’ Apfelschorle last night. Couldn’t say no. Would be rude to ask for just straight Apple Juice, wouldn’t it? ….

Awww, that is a really nice video! I found she was concentrating a bit too hard on the Bavarian part but I really like it 🙂 I hope your internet setup is going well (or best is over and settled by now)?
    Cheers from the Netherlands

Enormous success with the internet, I may have been an internet technician in a former life!

We are not moving for over a year but picking a new internet provider really freaks me out!

It can be the most irritating thing about moving, because it always seems to take so long!

The problem is that the “last mile” of cabling aways belongs to Deutsche Telekom, and if you do not get your Internet from them, they’ll always leave you hanging as second-rate customers. I’ve had a similar experience when I moved into my current apartment 🙁

We had to switch providers, something about no signal, then no cable, then a new cable, then endlich internet!
