Life in Weiden, Travel: Germany

In one of life’s clever little parallels of the type it seems to serve up every now and then with a wink, we drove down to Weiden on almost the same day, a year ago, I left this place for Sydney. My oh my, what a difference a year makes.

We crossed the country in just short of eight hours, with a stop at the world’s most disorganised Burger King. It’s hot as hell down here and my boxes from Sydney and our acquired stuff (so much stuff) from six months in Kiel and the little trips we’ve taken since we left, is strewn all over the place.

But that’s okay. Because this is the first time, in three years, that all of my stuff has been in the one place at the same time. With SG. And me. Together. No long distance, no waiting for cartons, no shipping or posting or storing. Just us, our apartment and our stuff.

My oh my, what a difference a year makes.

I’ll be back once all of that stuff finds a suitable, dust-free home. In the meantime, catch up on Weiden Take 1 here and here.
