You Made Noise … They Listened

A couple of days ago, I wrote to you all, asking you not to forget about the cattle being butchered in Indonesia, about the sheep being shoved in car boots. Just hours after I did, a wonderful thing happened. Australia introduced a blanket ban on live export to Indonesia. You made enough noise and your government suspended an industry worth hundreds of millions of dollars. There are animals across the world being grossly mistreated on a daily basis, and people working tirelessly to save them all. Whether you signed theĀ petition, wrote to Julia Gillard or donated money to get the ad on TV, you added your voice to a noise our government couldn’t ignore. And that’s a wonderful thing.

My appeal has since appeared over on Onya Magazine.

What do you think?
