Santorini Summer 2011, Travel + Life Abroad

Bis Juni 18th, Santorini …

In a move that has provided a much needed salve for my itchy, restless little (read: giant) feet, today I booked my ticket back to my beloved island. I shall step into its sandy, sunny embrace, on June 18th, a warmth into which I plan to nestle for the rest of the summer.

I can still remember the reason we chose Santorini, whilst on a round-the-world trip back in 2007 – because it had ‘all those white houses on the cliffs’. And I remember, when I said it, I was thinking of a photo on the wall of a Greek deli I worked in whilst at uni. That photo, that snap decision, sparked one of the greatest love affairs – in all its ups and downs and full, blinding colour –  I have ever known.

Chill the wine lover, I am on my way.

Wish I was coming with you. I mean, come on, my website is called Aphrodite and there is nothing more beautiful and lovely than Santorini

I don’t know if I’ve told you this story, but I fell in love with the thought of living in Santorini when I first read your article on Trespass, back in 2008/2009. Who knew that a few words and photos will make such a difference. Well, yours did.
And today, all I want to do is go there and spend a good amount of time in its shelter. It seems so heavenly and beautiful.
So glad that you’re going back to the heavenly paradise. Hopefully, i’ll get my little ‘Santorini love’ soon.
    Enjoyyyyyy…. xx

Thank you so much Shitika, I know how much meaning words can carry because your kind words have made my day. I VERY much hope you get to the island soon – just be prepared to never want to leave.

What do you think?
